Autumn Afternoon Tea at 2 Chesham Hotel

An Afternoon Interlude

An Afternoon Interlude

A Well-Kept Ritual in the Heart of Belgravia

Nestled in the quiet elegance of Belgravia, Afternoon Interlude is a social affair, served with tea. Inspired by the theatre, curated like a gallery, and delivered with the grace of a bygone age, this is our tribute to a timeless ritual. Each course plays its part, each tea a character.

As autumn gathers outside, our dining room offers a stage of warmth as an invitation to pause, indulge, and follow the story one delicate bite at a time. From 13:00 to 16:00 daily, Afternoon Tea unfolds like an old playbill: delicate savouries, buttery scones, and sweet confections, each appearing in its rightful act.

A Pause in Three Acts

Just as Anna Russell, the Duchess of Bedford, once revived her afternoons with sips and sweets, we honour the ritual she began, adding a whisper of whimsy, a touch of theatre, and now the quiet richness of the season.

  • Act I opens with classic finger sandwiches and light fare
  • Act II is served warm: scones, clotted cream, seasonal jams
  • Act III concludes with pâtisserie-worthy confections and a storybook tea menu

Whether you’re celebrating, reconnecting, or simply seeking a beautifully slow hour — Afternoon Interlude is set for you.

As the days grow shorter, our dining room and lounge offer a sanctuary of seasonal escape. Just moments from Knightsbridge and Sloane Square, yet a world apart from the city’s clamour.

We welcome couples, small gatherings, and discerning cultural travellers. Children are welcome too, curious palates included.
